Articolul urmator sintetizeaza in cateva paragrafe, concret cum sa actionezi cand ai acel gol al schimbarii in stomac.

______

Some of the damaging results that can come from overthinking include:

Lost opportunities from taking too long to decide

Increased likelihood that you won’t be able to make a decision at all

Feeling paralyzed by the inability to decide

Increased fear, anxiety and stress about all decision-making

First Things First: Why?

A good question to ask yourself when first considering whether to put advertisements on your blog or website is, why are you advertising in the first place? Some of the major reasons that we’ve heard of (at meet-ups, conferences and from other publishers) follow.

1. Quality Content Costs Money.

The most common argument. When a website owner creates and manages content, they’re providing a service; and they have to spend time continually maintaining it. No surprise then that they want to be compensated for that time. Unless the owner is marketing a salable product, this almost inevitably leads them to consider advertising as their chief source of revenue. Erin Kissane recently reflected on this, the content conundrum, after taking part in SXSW’s publishing panel:

Content isn’t free. If it’s good, it’s very expensive to make. We can subsidize its production and maintenance in any number of ways, but we have to start being honest — with ourselves, our clients and sometimes our readers — about its true cost.… Publishing requires resources: planning, big doses of both creativity and disciplined analysis, writing, editing, design, project management, production, ad sales and so on. It doesn’t usually require a separate person for each of those tasks, but it still tends to be a lot of work — more than most readers and clients tend to imagine.

Jeffrey Zeldman, who manages Happy Cog, the consultancy that publishes A List Apart, corroborates this in his post “Content Wants to Be Paid For.”

Membrii comisiei de munca au luat totodata in dezbatere si proiectul de lege a deputatului PDL Dan Zatreanu, privind declararea acestei zile ca zi nationala nelucratoare.

The other day, I was going through some old documents on my computer, and I found a list of various definitions of success. I can’t remember exactly what this was for, but I suspect it had something to do with a coaching exercise I was doing at the time.

Success is a very subjective term, and it doesn’t mean exactly the same thing to two different people. Not knowing how you define success in your life can make the process of becoming successful even more challenging. It’s like fumbling around in the dark to find something when the light switch is right next to you, if only you would stop grasping in the dark and focus on the light switch.

So, I thought I’d share my list of what success means to me (at least what it meant to me when I created it last year) so we can take a look at the different meanings of success. Success in my life means (in no particular order):

Being happy

Doing what I love everyday

Helping others do what they love

Staying true to my values

Being a good mom

Having respectful relationships with those around me

Being able to contribute financially to my household

Reaching financial security

Being recognized as knowledgeable by peers

Having time to enjoy the little things in life

Not feeling stressed and overwhelmed on a regular basis

Being in control of my own future

Following my dreams

Setting and reaching meaningful goals

Making genuine connections with others

What’s On Your List?

When is the last time you thought about success and what being successful means in your life? Does your definition of success match up with where you’re focusing your time and energy every day?

Not only does an exercise like this give you a chance to reevaluate your priorities and help clarify the direction you need to go in order to reach your goals, but it can also serve as an effective way to brainstorm things in your life and work that you may want to try doing differently.

Take some time to think about how you define success, make your own list and see how it relates to your day-to-day life. If you’d like, share your definition of success in the comments so we can create a broad list of meanings, and see how success can vary from person to person.

Adobe will unveil its new Creative Suite 5 on Monday April 12th at 8AM PDT, just a few hours from now.

You can catch the official launch online here, however, if you can’t wait, we’ll be revealing all the juicy details before the official launch… right now!

In this post, we’ll be sharing some of the highlights of each application in this exciting new release, with some detailed info on the new applications. We’ll also discuss whether we think CS5 is worth upgrading to or not.

That being said, get ready to be amazed… there are tons of new features to get excited about in this release.

Overview

There are five editions of Creative Suite 5: Web Premium, Production Premium, Design Standard, Design Premium and the Master Collection. Adobe decided to drop Web Standard as web developers seemed to mainly purchase the Premium version.

Everything in CS5 is now 64 bit (including both Windows and Mac) with Premiere and After Effects being 64 bit only. This will dramatically increase performance across all the products in the suite.

Creative Suite 5 introduces over 250 new features. There are all-new versions of fourteen point products (all products except Acrobat Pro), and there’s a brand new product called Flash Catalyst, which is included in all of the editions except Design Standard.

Flash Builder 4 (previously Flex Builder) is now also bundled with the Design Premium and Master Collection editions.

Adobe is also introducing CS Live, a collection of online services that work within the CS5 applications. The services are designed to help you speed up your productivity and make it easy to collaborate with others on your projects.

Crying over spilled milk; making mountains out of molehills; worrying that the sky is falling…whichever way you say it, it all comes down to having perspective. And I don’t think anyone has pinpointed that revelation better than Kristine and the late Richard Carlson, authors of the “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff” series of books. Focusing on limiting stress and boosting happiness, the books provide inspirational nuggets that apply to just about every area of life.

So how does this relate to the business owner? There’s a pretty defined correlation, I think, particularly when you factor in the stresses of business, money, time and all of the revolving details that are constantly in the works. When you have big goals and the desire to go for it, it can be easy to get caught up in the details and quickly overwhelmed. I’ve certainly been there, and I know that if you don’t stop this way of thinking early on, you may not only slow your progress, but you can also hurt your potential for success.

I’ve compiled a list of the most effective ways I’ve found to move past the little show-stoppers and keep moving forward.

Embrace the Chaos

Rarely does a day go by in my life that I don’t look around and think, “My gosh, this is a crazy existence I have!” Sure, not everyone has three kids 3 years old and younger, a house full of animals, a full business and lots of side projects, but I suspect most of us feel our own unique version of craziness from time to time. That’s the nature of life; you can’t fight it. In fact, with a little creativity, you can use it to your advantage (using the chaos as material in your writing, for example).

Pick Your Battles

It would be great if everyone just followed your lead, and did what you wanted them to do when you wanted them to do it. It will never happen. Instead of getting caught up trying to fit people into your preferred mold, be willing to accept others for who they are and respect their differences. If you do this, you will begin to let the lesser important battles fade away, and you’ll have the time and energy to tackle the big struggles when they come along.

Take Advice with a Grain of Salt

Many people believe that their way is the best way, and that others facing similar experiences have to follow their path if they’re going to come through challenges victorious. But not all advice is good advice, or good advice for you, so take recommendations at face value and use them as a starting point for exploring your own solutions. And don’t let the naysayers override your own self-confidence and determination.

Save 911 for the Real Emergencies

If you’re anything like me, you tend to go from zero to 60 and into emergency mode before the alarm has even started sounding. I’ve found that it can save me a lot of stress and worry if I stop, take a breath and honestly analyze the situation before letting myself hit the panic button.

Know What You Can’t Control

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that you only have control over your own actions, how you perceive the actions of others and how you react. Instead of worrying about what others will think or how they will look at you, focus on honoring your own standards and ideals in everything you do. You just can’t please everyone all the time, so worry about making yourself happy and the rest will fall into place.

How do you keep things in perspective and avoid worrying about the little things?

Many people go by the saying ‘if you want something doing, do it yourself’. It’s a decent statement in all fairness but if you’re the owner of a business, you don’t want your work ethos to revolve around such a saying.

Delegation is the assignment of authority and responsibility to another person usually from a superior to a subordinate. If done correctly, it can free up time for the superior to focus on more important tasks whilst knowing the less important yet still necessary tasks are being taken care of.

Effective delegation can be split up into a couple of steps and yields great results when practised well. Firstly, you need to decide who is appropriate to delegate to, if you have a span of control, it’ll be your direct subordinate(s). You should give them as much information as possible about the task, the deadline, what resources are available, any additional expectations etc. Secondly, arrange a mid-point meeting to check on progress, this allows you to ensure everything is on schedule and allows your subordinate(s) to raise any issues prior to the deadline.

The important thing to remember is don’t leave anything for assumption or misconception, be clear in every instruction and encourage questioning if your delegates are confused. In practising this simple method, you’ll give yourself more time to plan on moving your business forward as opposed to working on the production development, for example.
